Press release on the alleged arrest and detention of three Croatian truck drivers in Iraq
As regards the media reports on the alleged arrest and detention of three Croatian truck drivers in Iraq, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration would like to state the following
The MFAEI has no official information concerning the identity or nationality of said persons. It was informed about the case by Marijan Benelli, president of the Croatian Association of Road Hauliers. The MFAEI continues to put maximum effort in finding out their identity.
The MFAEI informed through diplomatic channels the American side, which so far was unable to confirm either the identity of the nationality of the three drivers. The MFAEI would also like to point out that none of the employers or family members of said persons has officially contacted the MFAEI for help.
