Political consultations with Israel

Political Affairs Director-General Petar Mihatov on Tuesday held political consultations with Political Director at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alon Bar.

The two officials exchanged views on relevant topics of mutual interest, including the intensification of bilateral political and economic relations, EU-Israel relations, cooperation within multilateral organizations and global issues. They also exchanged views on relations in Croatia and Israel’s respective regions. It was agreed to additionally strengthen cooperation in a number of areas within the Joint Economic Committee.

Ahead of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, Mihatov and Bar discussed the modes of advancing relations and raising them to the strategic partnership level, as well as the exchange of high-level visits.

In addition, the two officials talked about Croatia’s IHRA presidency in 2023, underscoring mutual commitment to the fight against antisemitism and all forms of intolerance.
