The ministers met in the capacity of co-chairs of the Mixed Croatia-Montenegro Commission for the Preparation of Legal Proceedings for Demarcation between the Republic of Croatia and Montenegro before the International Court.

They exchanged information on what had been done thus far and what still needed to be done in order for the Commission to continue with its operations. Both expressed satisfaction with the functioning of and the overall atmosphere in the Commission.

The meeting achieved concord on further steps and agreed to hold soon a meeting of expert groups that would prepare the next session of the Commission.

The ministers also agreed on the launch of bilateral negotiations regarding the agreements on and setting up of a border regime, as well as border crossings that would be congruent with the EU standards and legislature. The new regimes should facilitate crossing the mutual border for the citizens of Croatia and Montenegro by ensuring better conditions and highest standards for the overall international transport of passengers and goods.

The collocutors once again expressed full support for the processes of Euro-Atlantic integration of all the Southeast European countries, considering their membership in the EU and NATO a guarantee of long-term stability in the region and Europe as a whole.
