Both sides expressed satisfaction with the excellent, friendly and partnership relations between the Republic of Croatia and the United States of America.

Minister Jandroković thanked Deputy Jones for the assistance the US had extended Croatia on its way to NATO, as well as for the US engagement during the last phase of Croatia’s NATO accession and the ratification of the Protocol. He informed Deputy Jones about the current state of Croatia’s EU negotiations, stating his expectation that Croatia, despite Slovenia’s blockade, would complete the negotiations by end-2009.

The collocutors also reviewed the state of affairs in South Eastern Europe, the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the results of the recent visit by Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader to the Republic of Serbia. Minister Jandroković said that Croatia remains dedicated to the development of good-neighborly relations and will continue to assist countries of South Eastern Europe along their path to the Euro-Atlantic structures.
