On Friday, 17 September 2010, State Secretary Andrej Plenković received the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Croatia, Burak Ӧzügergin.

Finding the bilateral relations very good, they discussed the experience of both countries concerning the negotiations to join the European Union.

State Secretary Plenković informed Ambassador Ӧzügergin about the efforts of the Republic of Croatia to complete the accession negotiation, expressing hope that Croatia would sign the Accession Agreement during the Hungarian presidency.

Ambassador Ӧzügergin reiterated full support of the Republic of Turkey to Croatia's membership of the European Union and informed about the news related to Turkish negotiations with the European Union. They emphasised good bilateral economic cooperation and the desire to intensify the existing economic relations between the two states.
