On 18 September 2003, Mr. Ivan Šimonović, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, received Mr. Gay Mitchell, Minister of State for European Affairs of the Irish Parliament.

Mr. Šimonović welcomed frequent and intensive bilateral meetings between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Ireland at all levels and thanked the continued assistance of Ireland on the Croatian path to joining the European integration.

Mr. Mitchell expressed full and open support of Ireland to the Croatian candidacy for EU membership.
