Miroslav Benko and Hannu Raitio, Director General of Finnish Forest Research Institute, sign Memorandum on Understanding and Cooperation

At the initiative of the Croatian Embassy in Helsinki, as a part of the future cooperation program, a proposal was accepted to hold a special thematic presentation of Croatian forestry in Finland Spring-2009. It will serve as an opportunity to present Croatia’s forest policy, the academic and research potential, as well as the possibilities and plans of Croatia’s wood industry. Finland’s forest and wood industry cluster in among the world’s leading ones, with a well-developed global cooperation network, ranging from the EU to Asia and South America. Finland is a leading country in investing in forestry research, development, and innovation, which lends the cooperation with Croatia a whole new dimension.
