Ministry condemns destruction of war memorial in Ravno, BiH

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs strongly condemns the second destruction of a memorial commemorating the fallen Croatian soldiers in the town of Slivnica in Ravno Municipality, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs strongly condemns the second destruction of a memorial commemorating the fallen Croatian soldiers in the town of Slivnica in Ravno Municipality, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

By vandalizing the crosses erected in 2014 to commemorate the fallen Croatian defenders, members of the Kobac special unit of the 156th Croatian Army Makarska-Vrgorac Brigade, unidentified perpetrators and their sympathizers have shown that they are still not ready to truly face the past. Incidents like these and attacks on monuments commemorating the Homeland War incite hatred, intolerance and exclusion, and should not be ignored.

The ministry therefore calls on the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina to condemn this escalation of hatred, and to identify and punish the perpetrators.
