Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul received today, 1 April 2004, in Zagreb, the Director General for Europe at the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pablo Garcia-Berdoy, who is on a working visit to the Croatian MFA, as a part of the regular bilateral consultations with Croatian officials

The talks once again confirmed Spain’s willingness to give full support to Croatia in its approaching the EU and NATO and concluded that the already good quality co-operation needs to be raised to a higher level, more suitable for countries belonging to the European family. During the working consultations, led on the Croatian side by the Assistant Foreign Minister Neven Madey, the bilateral relations situation was considered and it was concluded that there are no open issues. Spain and Croatia will continue to work to further improve their relations, amongst other things, through regular working level consultations and co-operation in multilateral missions. The current situation in the region was also discussed, as well as the development of the events within the EU, including the process of drawing up a new European Constitution.
