Minister Žužul opened the exhibition in the chapel of Nassau at the Belgian Royal Library in Brussels

On 22 January 2004, Foreign Minister Žužul opened the exhibition “Three languages - Three Scripts; Croatian Linguistic Monuments, Manuscripts and Printed Editions Through Ccenturies” in the chapel of Nassau at the Belgian Royal Library in Brussels. It was jointly organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Croatian National and University Library in Zagreb and the Belgian Royal Library in Brussels.

This exhibition is the largest and the most complete representation of the Croatian written word in the period from the Early Middle Ages to the early 20th century. It represents scripts used at the Croatian territories throughout history: Glagolitic script, Croatian Cyrillic and Latin script and languages: Croatian version of the Old Church Slavonic, Latin and Croatian. The exhibition is the project of the Croatian Ministry of Culture initiated in 1999, and was exhibited for the first time in Berlin two years ago. The exhibits were selected by Ms. Anica Nazor, Mr. Josip Bratulić and Mr. Mirko Tomasović, members of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The authors of the setting are Mr. Srećko Lipovčan and Mr. Zlatko Rebrenjak. The exhibition will be open for public from 23 January to 28 February 2004.

In addition to the Croatian Foreign Minister Žužul, the opening of the exhibitions was attended by Mr. Raphael de Smedt, Head of the Belgian Royal Library, Ms. Ljerka Alajbeg, Croatian Ambassador to Brussels, Mr. Josip Stipanov, Head of the National and University Library of the Republic of Croatia and Ms. Branka Šuls, Assistant Minister of Culture.
