Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul met today in Bruxelles with the Secretary General of the Council of the European Union and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana. Minister Žužul familiarised the High Representative with Croatian government's foreign policy priorities and discussed the implementation of the key EU political criteria
High Representative Solana gave a positive evaluation of the new Croatian government's first steps, stressing the importance of continuing the reform process that has already started in Croatia.
Minister Žužul expressed Croatia's expectations regarding the dynamics of approaching the EU in the context of European Commission's soon passing its opinion of Croatia's EU membership application. Minister Žužul also asked the High Representative for his support in the EU Council of Ministers regarding the reaching of the decision about Croatia.
High Representative Solana accepted Minister Žužul's invitation to visit Croatia soon.
