Minister Žužul and members of the delegation of the CDU/CSU at the German Federal Assembly (Bundestag) held today a working meeting at the Croatian Foreign Ministry in Zagreb
Minister Žužul pointed out the encouraging messages he received from all of the officials from the international scene he met with since he had taken office two months ago and confirmed Croatia’s dedication in meeting the Copenhagen criteria, especially in protecting minority rights, return of the refugees and justice reform.
Members of the German Parliament expressed their support, commending the Croatian government’s performance and expressing their satisfaction that other leading EU members also support Croatia. Members of the CDU think that co-operation with the Hague is instrumental for getting a positive opinion from the European Commission.
Minister Žužul and German MPs agreed that Croatia’s joining the EU and NATO would give a positive example and pave the way for other countries in the region. Croatia is a good example and a bridge for stabilisation and democratisation of the region, said Members of the German parliament.
During their two-day visit to Zagreb, the German parliamentary delegation met with Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, President of the Croatian parliament Vladimir Šeks, Culture Minister Božo Biškupić and European Integrations Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarović.
