First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić today held talks with her South Korean counterpart Yun Byung-se, who was on a working visit to Croatia.

Pusić and Yun Byung-se, who is the first Korean foreign minister to visit Croatia since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, discussed the prospects of strengthening economic cooperation in transport, infrastructure, energy and tourism in light of the fact that last year the tourist visits from South Korea increased by 242% to 238,411 in relation to 2013.

The two ministers agreed that cooperation would also be facilitated and advanced with the opening of Croatia’s embassy in Korea.

Croatia's imports from Korea totalled EUR 77.4 million in 2014, when the majority of goods imported were cars, telecommunications equipment, tools and electronic devices, while Croatia's exports totalled EUR 5.3 million and they were mainly engines, vessels and raw material such as fodder or cement and construction material.
