After meeting with Portuguese FM Rui Machete and Deputy Prime Minister Paolo Portas, with whom she discussed the current situation in Southeast Europe and future EU enlargement, Foreign Minister Vesna Pusić visited the North–South Centre in Lisbon.

The European Centre for Global Interdependence and Solidarity (also known as the North–South Centre) has a Euro-Arabian and Mediterranean dimension, a network of universities supporting youth organisations in regional cooperation and global education, and the dimension of African-European youth cooperation.

This was Pusić’s first official visit to Portugal, during which the officials signed two agreements and identified new areas of cooperation in the future - energy, which is a priority for both countries, and cooperation in development aid given that Croatia and Portugal are small donors but, with closer cooperation and better focus, they can achieve better results. Pusić invited her counterpart Machete to attend the next Croatia Forum, traditionally held in Dubrovnik in July.
