Minister Pusić to visit Portugal

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Political Affairs Vesna Pusić will pay an official visit to Portugal 20 and 21 November, where she is scheduled to meet with Portuguese Foreign Minister Rui Machete and Deputy Prime Minister Paulo Portas.

The talks will focus on economic cooperation, notably in the energy sector, and on the two countries’ cooperation within the EU. Two documents will be signed during Pusić's visit to Lisbon, one of them regulating cooperation in tourism and the other relating to cooperation in the field of languages, education, culture and sports for the 2014-2017 period.

Croatia's exports to Portugal jumped by 205% in the first eight months of 2014 to EUR 22 million, while imports rose by 42% to EUR 11.6 million. There has been an increase in the number of Portuguese tourists visiting Croatia as well, from 10.3% in 2013 to 15.8% in the first nine months of 2014. Additionally, TAP Portugal has started operating direct Zagreb-Lisbon flights. Also, Portugal's Global Trade and Investment Agency (AICEP) is planning to open its office in Zagreb.
