First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić 16 January 2013 received Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, H. E. Minoru Kiuchi, with whom she discussed the two countries’ bilateral relations. They agreed that the relations were very good, but that there was room for improving the economic cooperation.

This year, Croatia and Japan will celebrate the 10th anniversary of diplomatic relations with a series of cultural events. High-level visits are also expected, along with the regular holding of political consultations between the two ministries. Pusić thanked the Japanese side for the humanitarian and development aid, as well as the assistance in reconstruction and mine clearance that Japan has been offering Croatia during the past years. Pusić and Kiuchi concurred on the possibility of the two countries’ cooperation in peace-keeping missions.
