First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić received the Speaker of the Senate of the Netherlands, Fred de Graaf, thanking him for the ratification of Croatia's EU accession treaty by the lower house of the Dutch parliament

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić received the Speaker of the Senate of the Netherlands, Fred de Graaf, thanking him for the ratification of Croatia's EU accession treaty by the lower house of the Dutch parliament. Pusić also underscored the good cooperation between Croatia and the Netherlands at all levels, adding that to Croatia the EU meant stability and lasting institutions.

De Graaf said that Croatia had done “a good job” and that it was a model for other countries undergoing the EU integration process because it had had to meet stricter requirements than the countries that had joined in the previous rounds of enlargement. “We see Croatia as a new member and an equal partner,” de Graaf said.

Pusić informed him about the completed tasks from the Action Plan and the process of ratification of the Croatia’s accession treaty in the EU members. They agreed that it was important for Croatia to prepare projects for EU funds, to which it would have access after it enters into the EU.

The talks also focused on Croatia's cooperation with other countries in the region, further reforms, and bilateral relations, primarily in tourism.
