First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusić received a delegation of the Dutch parliament's European Affairs Committee, headed by its chairman Raymond Knops.

Pusić informed the delegation about Croatia's EU accession process and the role played by the Croatian parliament, namely the Negotiations Monitoring Committee, as well as the fulfilment of the remaining tasks identified in the European Commission's autumn report. She also commented on today’s meeting of the partner commission of the US-Adriatic Charter. “Croatia will not leave the region behind after it joins the European Union,” Pusić said, adding that a stable region was in our interest.

The delegation wanted to know if Croatia expected problems with the ratification of its EU Accession Treaty and what it expected of the Commission's 2013 spring report. Pusić said we expected the treaty to be ratified by 20 countries by the end of the year and the rest would do so at the pace envisaged. She was hopeful that Slovenia would not be the last to do so. "Nothing's over until it's over, but our Action Plan clearly defines our commitments and the deadlines to meet them," she said. Speaking about the situation in the region, Pusić said "it's our responsibility to develop good neighbourly relations."
