Pusić and Elfarr expressed satisfaction with the very good and historical relations between Croatia and Egypt. Both voiced interest in the transfer of Croatia's transition and post-conflict experiences in light of the changes Egyptian society is undergoing. Also, Pusić highlighted as potentially important for Mediterranean countries Croatia's experience in EU integration, especially regarding agrarian issues, judicial reform and protection of human, women's and children's rights.

Both sides expressed interest in strengthening the partnership, which could serve as basis for a more active economic cooperation as well, pointing out the potential of the seaport of Rijeka. It was concluded that it was in both countries’ interest to continue with the exchange of high-level visits and the regular political consultations.

Ambassador Elfarr congratulated Minister Pusić on her appointment to position and the positive outcome of the referendum on Croatia’s EU membership, as well as the recent ratification of Croatia’s accession treaty by the Slovak parliament.

Pusić took the opportunity to extend her condolences over the death of 79 people after football fans' riots in Port Said earlier this week.

The two officials also talked about the current situation in Egypt, describing it as a crucial element of peace and security in the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
