(Hina) - Croatia has projects that may be interesting to China, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Vesna Pusić, said on Tuesday.

Speaking to Croatian reporters at an economic forum of China and Central and Eastern European countries in Belgrade, Pusić said that those were not just infrastructure projects, citing Croatia's EU membership as an advantage.

"China may take advantage of the fact that Croatia is a member of the EU and may relocate or bring one of its productions in the EU to Croatia," Pusić said, recalling that the matter had already been discussed.

Among projects of potential interest to Chinese investors, she mentioned a cargo terminal in Rijeka, a thermal power plant and the airport at Osijek, and the airport on Krk Island.

"These are some of the projects that are already under way. Croatia plans to launch on-shore oil and gas exploration, which is an energy project of potential interest to China," Pusić said.

Pusić said that although Prime Minister Zoran Milanović is not attending the Belgrade summit, "Croatia is represented at a satisfactory level."
