Minister Picula opened the exhibition entitled “Works of Art Returned Through Succession”

Today, at the foyer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Tonino Picula opened the exhibition entitled “Works of Art Returned Through Succession”.

In his opening speech, minister Picula said that this exhibition for the first time show works of art of famous Croatian artists, that have been returned to Croatia through signing the Succession Agreement in Vienna 2001. These are the works of art that formerly have been a part of the inventory at the embassies of ex Yugoslavia in Washington, Paris, and London, and include such names as Milivoj Uzelac, Ferdinand Kulmer, Fran Šimunović, Albert Kinert, Jerolim Miše, etc.

The minister emphasised that the succession process is not yet finished and that Croatia is still to received some 30 real estates, as well as various pieces of art from the remaining 118 locations according to the agreed criteria.

Exhibition is open for public every day from 7-17 October, from 5-7 p.m.
