Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received Alberto Navarro, Secretary of State for the European Union of the Kingdom of Spain

On July 4, 2006 Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received Alberto Navarro, Secretary of State for the European Union of the Kingdom of Spain. This encounter was preceded by a meeting between Secretary of State Alberto Navarro and Secretary of State for the European Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Europen Integration, Marija Pejčinović Burić

During the conversation Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović expressed gratitude for the support that the Kingdom of Spain is giving to the Republic of Croatia in the process of access to the European Union. Minister Grabar-Kitarović also mentioned that there are no opened questions between two countries and expressed her contentment with the cooperation considering the fact that the Kingdom of Spain is an excellent example of a country with big potential to absorbe the means from the European Union funds.

At the beginning of the meeting between two Secretaries of the State, Secretary of State Marija Pejčinović Burić expressed deepest condolences to Secretary of State Navarro relating to the railway-accident that happend previously in Valencia.

During the meeting between two Secretaries of State, Secretary of State Marija Pejčinović Burić informed the interlocuteurs about the actual issues considering the process of access of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union with a short briefing revealing the structures of the Republic of Croatia for the negotiations with the European Union and the way how the public is kept up-to-date about the process of access.

State Secretary Navarro confirmed the readiness of the Kingdom of Spain to support and help the Republic of Croatia in the process of entering into the European Union, emphasizing that the Croatian membership in the European Union will be a great factor of security in this part of the Mediterranean. State Secretary Navarro made a short briefing about the experience that the Kingdom of Spain had during the process of access to the European Union and about the actual issues in the actions going on currently in the European Union revealing a brief note considering the enlargement of the European Union

Secretary of State Pejčinović Burić and Secretary of State Navarro concluded this afternoon in the Upper Town's Town Hall the seminar about the accessive funds of the European Union organized in common by Central State Administrative Office for Development Strategy and Coordination of EU funds, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the Ambassy of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Croatia.
