Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic met with Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Song Min-soon
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic met on Friday, 25 May 2007, during her official visit to the Republic of Korea, in Seoul with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Han Duck-soo and with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea Song Min-soon
During her official visit to Seoul, Minister Grabar-Kitarovic met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea Song Min-soon, with whom she talked about subjects significant for further development of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the field of economy and increase in exchange of goods.
Korean companies were among the first foreign investors which, by investing in the Croatian economic infrastructure, especially the Rijeka port, contributed significantly to better connections of the economies of Croatia and those of developed Asian countries, pointed out Grabar-Kitarovic. Minister Grabar-Kitarovic pointed out, among other, tourism, shipbuilding and scientific-technical cooperation as potential fields for further strengthening and development of Croatian-Korean economic relations and she supported the idea of closer cooperation of the two parliaments by welcoming the announcement of the future establishment of the Croatian-Korean parliamentary friendship group. In the talks of the two delegations special attention was given to the issues of cooperation in multilateral organisations, particularly the United Nations.
Minister Grabar-Kitarovic gave an interview on Friday for Korea's leading political journal “The Korea Herald“ where she talked about the Croatian rapprochement to the European Union and Euroatlantic integrations and the status of the negotiation process and where she presented Croatia as a country with high economic potentials and attractive tourist destination.
