Minister Jandrokovikć participated in “Croatia Summit 2008 – Security, Development, Prosperity“

Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković participated the past two days in Dubrovnik in the third conference of state or government heads and high officials from European and North American countries as well as representatives of international organizations held this year as “Croatia Summit 2008 – Security, Development, Prosperity“

Topics discussed at Croatia Summit 2008 working panels were functioning of the EU following the Lisbon Treaty, intensifying cooperation of EU and NATO member states with the countries in the region aspiring to Euro-Atlantic integration, and the European energy strategy.

Minister Jandroković has participated today in the work of theme panel „EU and NATO, enlargement and SE Europe“, at which he addressed the participants.

In the margins of the Summit Minister Jandroković met with Jason Kenney, State Secretary for Multiculre and Canadian Identity of Canada, and Radoslav Sikorski, Polish Foreign Minister.

Along with Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and a number of government members, the Conference was attended by President of the Croatian Parliament Luka Bebić. Foreign participants were Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány, Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Kosovan Prime Minister Hashim Thaqi, Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Đukanović, President of Georgian President David Bakradze, US Assistant State Secretary Dan Fried, Deputy Assistant of the NATO Secretary General and NATO SG envoy Aurélia Bouchez, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defense of the Federal republic of Germany Christian Schmidt, RCC (Regional Cooperation Council) Secretary General Hido Biščević, a number of Ministers, officials and representatives of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Croatia, EU and NGO representatives, various experts and Croatian businessmen.
