Minister Jandroković participated in the ministerial meeting of the US-Adriatic Charter...

At the meeting, ministers of the member states of the US-Adriatic Charter laid down further activities to be carried out under the Chapter in the form of contributions and proposals for regional projects. This applies in particular to new member states of the US-Adriatic Charter, whose additional efforts will confirm their aspiration to become members of NATO. In this regard, the Republic of Croatia supports the continuation of positive results brought about by the efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. A successful implementation of reforms in politics, defence, security and the economy is crucial for the readiness of those countries to join NATO.

Minister Jandroković stressed the importance of the US-Adriatic Charter as a forum for regional political and security cooperation, and as a useful platform for countries in South Eastern Europe aspiring to join NATO. He expressed the support of the Republic of Croatia to the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the so-called West Balkan countries, as well as NATO’s open door policy. He also announced Croatia’s six-month presidency over the US-Adriatic Charter in the first half of 2010.
