Minister Jandroković participated in meeting of EU and SEE foreign ministers, and working lunch of EU members and candidates’ foreign ministers

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković participated in the meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU members and countries of South Eastern Europe, as well as in the working lunch of the EU members and candidates’ foreign ministers, held on 29 March 2008 in Brdo near Kranj, Slovenia

The EU members and SEE countries’ foreign ministers discussed the current situation in South Eastern Europe, as well as the possibilities of strengthening the European perspective of the countries in the region and achieving a lasting stability and security. In that regard, Croatia strongly supports the European perspective of the region’s countries and is willing to share its experiences in the negotiation process, as well as to offer professional and technical assistance in meeting the EU and NATO membership criteria.

Minister Jandroković also participated in the working lunch of the EU members and candidates’ foreign ministers. They discussed the issues of developing a multicultural dialogue aimed at realising tolerance, mutual trust and quality co-existence among different nationalities, cultures and religions. Permanent peace and stability in South Eastern Europe and the world can only be ensured through active dialogue and efforts to establish a mutual trust. Croatia will, therefore, continue to play active role in all regional initiatives whose goal is to surpass cultural and social barriers in South Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean.

The informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers (the Gymnich meeting) in Brdo near Kranj was held as a part of Slovenia’s EU presidency.
