In a special media statement released the day after the meeting, the two ministers stated, in the spirit of readiness for an open dialogue, that they have reviewed the existing outstanding issues and reached a consent on the need to continue working on their solution. They agreed on the importance of maintaining bilateral talks and that this meeting is an important step towards that end.

In his press speech, Minister Rupel expressed hope that this meeting will inject a new dynamic into the relations between Croatia and Slovenia, stating unequivocal support for Croatia’s speedier EU accession.

Minister Jandroković pointed out that both sides want to solve the issue of ZERP (the Protected Ecological Fishery Zone) as soon as possible and to mutual satisfaction.

Both sides agreed to continue with the mutual implementation of the agreement reached at the informal meeting of the two prime ministers in Bled, 26 August 2007, through a soon inception of the two commissions supposed by it.
