Minister Jandroković met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Vuk Jeremić

The ministers discussed the current situation of bilateral relations and agreed that the two countries have been developing very good cooperation in economy, tourism and culture, and more quality cooperation in the sectors of justice, internal affairs, and the fight against organised crime

The ministers discussed the current situation of bilateral relations and agreed that the two countries have been developing very good cooperation in economy, tourism and culture, and more quality cooperation in the sectors of justice, internal affairs, and the fight against organised crime. They particularly emphasised the Agreement on Cooperation in Defence, which was signed this month, as an additionally stimulus to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and stability in the region of the South East of Europe.

Minister Jandroković reminded once again that the Croatian side is prepared to resolve open issues between the two countries. He mentioned some positive examples, such as, the 6th session of the Interstate Commission in charge of the resolution of the border issue which took place in late April and the continuation of activities of the Mixed Intergovernmental Committee on Minority Issues last week. He also expressed hope that the Joint Committee on the Division of Diplomatic and Consular Property of the former SFRY would reconvene in the nearest future.

Minister Jandroković repeated Croatia’s support to the European perspective of the Republic of Serbia and expressed Croatia’s readiness to offer its expertise to assist Serbia on this path. In that respect, he reminded of the recent handing over of translations of the European Union acquis communautaire in the Croatian language to all other countries in the region, among them to the Republic of Serbia as well.
