The ministers reflected on the EU-Western Balkans Zagreb Summit, assessing it as a great success. They discussed the Middle East peace process and the EU’s support for the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian issue.

In addition, the ministers discussed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the EU’s southern neighbourhood – North Africa, Middle East and the Gulf. Grlić Radman expressed concern over the situation as conflicts are ongoing despite the coronavirus outbreak. The ministers welcomed the support package worth EUR 15.6 billion that the EU has earmarked for immediate needs in these countries.

Conclusively, the ministers reflected on the EU’s eastern neighbours. Grlić Radman said that the Croatian Presidency was pushing for a summit with the Eastern Partnership based on the model of the Zagreb Summit with partners in the Western Balkans.
