Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman on Wednesday participated virtually in a mistrial meeting as part of the Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), chaired by Ukraine.

Addressing the event, Grlić Radman condemned Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, underlining that Croatia was trying to support Ukraine – politically, economically and militarily. Croatia supports EU’s efforts to diversify and ensure energy sources. In that context, the minister underscored Croatia’s plan to boost the capacity of the Krk LNG terminal as well as the huge potential of the Ionian-Adriatic Pipeline. In the context of ensured food flow, notably grain from Ukraine, he highlighted the Solidarity Lanes project, to which Croatia is contributing through its port of Rijeka.

Conclusively, Grlić Radman stressed the importance of embedding macro-regional priorities into EUSDR member states’ national operative programmes as well as the importance of a strong and decisive political support for the idea of European macro-regional cooperation.
