Minister Grlić Radman meets with Japanese digital transformation minister, Croatian community

On the second day of his working visit to Japan, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman held talks with Japanese Minister for Digital Transformation Taro Kono. The two ministers underscored excellent bilateral relations, adding that it was important to boost economic cooperation. They reflected on Japan’s achievements in the IT industry and digitalisation, which the Croatian companies present on the Japanese market are contributing to. Grlić Radman underlined the importance of the EU-Japan digital partnership signed in 2022, which made Japan the first country with which the EU signed such an agreement, stressing the mutual benefit of such cooperation. He said the Croatian Digital Transformation Council was monitoring the implementation of digital transformation measures on the overall development of Croatian society.
 
In addition, Grlić Radman met with the Croatian community in Japan, which is 200 strong and exceptionally active. He thanked them for their contribution, highlighting the value of their specific know-how and skills for Croatia. He also thanked them for their aid after the devastating earthquakes that had hit Croatia. The minister underlined the importance of their positive experiences and perspectives for projects that benefit both Croatia and the Croatian community abroad.
