Minister Grlić Radman informs government about Croatia-Israel MoU on strategic partnership

At its 42nd session of 4 February 2021, Minister Gordan Grlić Radman informed the Croatian Government about the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Croatia and Israel on Strategic Partnership

At its 42nd session of 4 February 2021, Minister Gordan Grlić Radman informed the Croatian Government about the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Croatia and Israel on Strategic Partnership, signed at the ministerial level in Zagreb and Jerusalem on 28 December 2020.

The signing of this MoU was agreed in September of last year during Grlić Radman’s official visit to Israel, when both sides underscored the need to strengthen bilateral relations. The document represents a step forward in the two countries’ friendly relations and establishes a framework for the strengthening of strategic partnership.

The MoU obligates cooperation in development and humanitarian aid, pursuant to which we plan a joint Croatia-Israel project in three cantons of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Canton 10, Posavina Canton and West Herzegovina Canton) involving the transfer of know-how in the areas of agriculture and small-sized entrepreneurship, water management, education, social development and smart infrastructure.

The MoU sets up a framework for the strengthening of strategic partnership between Croatia and Israel to promote political and economic cooperation and solidify relations in areas of joint interest such as digital diplomacy, crisis communication, humanitarian and development assistance to third countries, cooperation within EU programmes and projects, cooperation in combating climate change, exchange of academics, experts and diplomats, as well as cultural cooperation.
