Minister Grabar-Kitarović received to official visit Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Asselborn
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received on Wednesday, 22 February 2006, to an official visit the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Jean Asselborn
Minister Grabar-Kitarović thanked Minister Asselborn for the support to Croatia in its Euro-integration process, pointing out the very good relations between the two countries, with no outstanding issues.
Minister Grabar-Kitarović expressed her gratitude for Luxembourg’s considerable help in mine clearance, as well as in the transfer of knowledge and experience in banking, finance, insurance, justice, and administration.
Minister Asselborn stressed Croatia’s numerous advantages based on its geographical position, political role in the region, and its significant tourist and economic potential. To the friendly Croatia, Minister Asselborn pointed out the importance of conducting reforms as the key condition for a full EU membership. Croatia is a leader in the region, he said, but also represents a bridge to Europe.
In their conclusion, Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Minister Asselborn emphasized the importance of broadening the economic co-operation, for which they both agreed that there is room for further improvement.
