Minister Grabar-Kitarović met with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Volodymyr Lytvyn

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović met today, 26 September 2005, with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Volodymyr Lytvyn, who is on an official visit to Croatia on an invitation by the Croatian Parliament’s President Vladimir Šeks

The two expressed their satisfaction with the high level of bilateral relations, which are with no open issues, and hoped for them to successfully continue developing.

Talking about the process of European integration in Croatia, Minister Grabar-Kitarović suggested that a group of European integration experts from Ukraine visit Croatia and exchange with their Croatian colleagues their experiences in approaching the EU.

Speaking of the economic co-operation, Minister Grabar-Kitarović said Croatia is interested in enhancing the economic relations between the two countries.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović pointed out that one of Croatia’s main goals is the development of good neighbourly relations as it is in its interest that the SEE region achieve full stability.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides announced bilateral consultations on liberalising the visa regime between Croatia and Ukraine.
