Minister Grabar-Kitarović met with Singapur’s Foreign Minister George Yong-Boon Yeo and Vietnamese Foreign Minister Nguyen Dy Nien

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović met yesterday, 16 September 2005, at the margins of the Plenary UN Summit, with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Singapore, Yong-Boon Yeo, and Foreign Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Dy Nien

The meeting with Minister Yong-Boon confirmed the good political relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Singapore, which have no open issues.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović informed her Singapore counterpart about the preparations of bilateral agreements on co-operation in science and technology, and the bilateral agreement on the cancellation of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports.

Minister Yong-Boon offered bilateral and other necessary assistance to the crew of the Croatian ship Mirna which on Thursday 15 September 2005 left the Indonesian port of Surabaya for the port of Singapore.

The meeting with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Dy Nien concluded that the relations between the two countries are good, but that there is room for improvement of trade and co-operation in science and technology.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović informed Minister Dy Nien about the situation in the region, adding that Croatia is willing to assume responsibility for its stability.

Minister Dy Nien backed the development of bilateral co-operation between the two countries and invited Minister Grabar-Kitarović on a bilateral visit to Vietnam.
