Minister Grabar-Kitarović met with OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin and Montenegrin Foreign Minister Miodrag Vlahović

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović met today, 6 December 2005, at the margins of the 13th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Ljubljana, with OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin and Montenegrin Foreign Minister Miodrag Vlahović

Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Secretary General Perrin discussed the OSCE reform and the role of its missions to Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia and Montenegro. Special emphasis was placed on the mandate of the OSCE Mission to Croatia and the public campaign on refugee return and the reintegration of all refugees and displaced persons, jointly conducted by the Croatian Government and the OSCE Mission to Croatia. Minister Grabar-Kitarović reiterated the Government’s readiness to complete the refugee return plan by 2006, in co-operation with the neighbours and as foreseen by the Sarajevo Declaration.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Minister Vlahović confirmed the good bilateral relations between the two countries, which are on the rise. It was pointed out, however, that the two countries still need to work on improving their transport connections and strengthen their economic co-operation.

Minister Vlahović showed special interest in Croatia’s knowledge and experiences gained in conducting the negotiations for the signing of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement. Minister Grabar-Kitarović offered him Croatia’s full technical support in that process.
