Minister Grabar-Kitarović in Corboda on two-day OSCE conference on anti-Semitism and other forms of intolerance

Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is taking part today, 8 June 2005, in Cordoba, the Kingdom of Spain, at the two-day conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on anti-Semitism and other forms of intolerance

Minister Grabar-Kitarović said in her speech that Croatia has already adopted numerous documents pertaining to the struggle against anti-Semitism and other forms of intolerance, and is now time to take concrete steps to implement them. She also pointed out that, 60 years after the victory over fascism, the Croatian Parliament adopted the Declaration on Antifascism, and Croatian President Stipe Mesić and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader visited Jasenovac to commemorate the victims, but also called on respecting their right to the truth. Minister Grabar-Kitarović epmhasised Croatia’s progress in the passing and implementation of laws pertaining to human rights and non-discrimination.

The Conference covered such subjects as the struggle against anti-Semitism and other forms of discrimination, and promotes tolerance. The Conference ends tomorrow, 9 June 2005, with a general assembly on the struggle against racism, xenophobia, intolerance and discrimination in general. The Cordoba Declaration is expected to be passed.
