Minister Grabar-Kitarović held bilateral meeting with Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović held on the margins of the 15th session of the OSCE Ministerial Council, held on 30 November 2007 in Madrid, a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Serbia Vuk Jeremić

The meeting confirmed the interest for a further development of the bilateral relations and both sides agreed that the relations between the two countries are of great importance for the stability of the region, which both sides, in view of the Kosovo negotiations, describe as extremely sensitive.

Minister Jeremić reiterated Belgrade’s familiar positions on the current state of the Kosovo negotiations and the Serbian Government’s estimates on the effect of the further development of the Kosovo issue on the stability in the region.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović said that Croatia recognises the extreme political delicacy of the issue and communicated Croatia’s interest for the Troika-led negotiation process to come to a satisfactory solution. Croatia shares the interest of the region’s countries for the continuation of the peacebuilding and stabilisation processes, as well as the co-operation among all countries of South Eastern Europe, said Minister Grabar-Kitarović.

The two ministers also discussed topics concerning OSCE, reviewing its role in Europe’s southeast.
