Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Swedish Ambassador to Croatia Sture Theolin signed Singular Agreement

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Croatia, Sture Theolin, signed on Wednesday, 21 December 2005 at the MFAEI, the Singular Agreement between the Republic of Croatia and the Kingdom of Sweden on the project entitled Swedish fund for the support of Croatian institutions

By this agreement, the Kingdom of Sweden will allocate 7.5 million Kuna in the 2005-2007 period for said project that will support Croatia’s activities in speeding up the EU accession process, as well as the adoption and implementation of the acquis communitaire.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the existence of good and friendly relations between Croatia and Sweden, expressing hope for the further improvement of the bilateral relations and the strengthening of the co-operation.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović thanked Ambassador Theolin for the financial support that Sweden is giving Croatia. She pointed out the successful co-operation between the MFAEI and the Swedish Government that continually supports the development co-operation with Croatia in accordance with the document The Kingdom of Sweden’s 2004-2006 assistance strategy for Croatia , in which Sweden defined the priority areas for the development co-operation with Croatia in the 2004-2006 period. These areas include state administration reform, the strengthening of justice, human rights, and economic growth, sustainable exploit of natural resources and environmental care, gender equality and social development.

Ambassador Theolin thanked for the good co-operation between the two countries and wished a mutual success in this project.
