Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin signed Memorandum on Co-operation in Euro-Atlantic Integration

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Ivailo Kalfin signed yesterday, 20 September 2005, in New York, a Memorandum on Co-operation in Euro-Atlantic Integration

The Memorandum foresees the exchange of technical assistance and experiences in Croatia’s joining the EU and NATO, and Bulgaria’s joining the EU.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović expressed her satisfaction with the results of the recent Euro-barometer research, which have shown positive public opinion about Croatia’s entering the EU.

Minister Kalfin pointed out the good bilateral relations with Croatia and promised to transfer his country’s experiences in joining NATO.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović reiterated the importance of the individual approach in estimating a country’s readiness for EU and NATO membership, as each is conducting the necessary reforms to the best of its abilities.
