Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Asselborn signed in Brussels the Agreement on financial aid to the Gata-Mošćenica area demining project

Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Jean Asselborn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration of Luxembourg, signed in Brussels today, July 6, 2005, the Agreement on financial aid to the Gata-Mošćenica area demining project

The Agreement on financial aid to the Gata-Mošćenica area demining project, which amounts to 100,000 euro, is not a first agreement of the kind, since the Protocol on financial aid to the Mošćenica-Poljoprovredno tlo area demining project was signed between the government of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the government of the Republic of Croatia, in the amount of 100,000 euro, in 2004. The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg donated 580,000 euro to the Republic of Croatia so far. Minister Grabar-Kitarović expressed Croatia's deep gratitude for such regular support, which reflects and confirms the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg's constant help to the Republic of Croatia in demining.

During the Agreement signing, Minister Grabar-Kitarović stressed the importance Luxembourg's presiding over the European Union had for Croatia, as well as for the whole European Union. She also emphasised the Republic of Croatia's gratefulness for the support the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg expressed so far, which reflected an understanding of Croatia's arguments for joining the European Union, and said she hoped Croatia could count on future support as well.
