Minister Jandroković expressed satisfaction that after two years Croatia was again hosting the US Congress delegation.

He described the two countries’ bi- and multilateral relations as excellent and thanked the American side for the constructive support during Croatia’s NATO membership negotiations, adding that Croatia appreciated the US support for its EU talks too, as well as the engagement in strengthening the cooperation in the region of South Eastern Europe.

The congressmen congratulated Croatia on its overall social development in the very short period since its gaining of international independence.

Both sides agreed that it was necessary to intensify the economic cooperation, with Minister Jandroković proposing that businessmen and the relevant Croatian and the US ministries be linked. He pointed out that Croatia was open to the US investments.

The meeting also discussed the two countries’ cooperation within NATO, especially the ISAF mission.

Minister Jandroković informed the congressmen about the actualities of Croatia’s EU accession process.

He expressed satisfaction with the renewed US engagement in Europe’s southeast and familiarized the congressmen with Croatia’s views on the current political and security situation in the region, emphasizing that Croatia would continue to offer assistance to the region’s countries along their road to the Euro-Atlantic integrations.
