Minister Gordan Jandroković received Slovakian Vice-Prime Minister Dušan Čaplović
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković received 2 September 2008 the Slovakian Vice-Prime Minister for Knowledge-Based Society, European Affairs, Human Rights and Minorities, Dušan Čaplović, who is on an official visit to Croatia
Minister Jandroković pointed out that his visit to Slovakia was his first official visit and that the two countries’ relations can be described as “super-standardly good”. He thanked for Slovakia’s support for Croatia on its way to the Euro-Atlantic integration. Minister Jandroković especially emphasized a possible future co-operation in the energy sector, informing the Slovakian side that the draft of Croatia’s future energy strategy is currently being drawn up.
Vice-Prime Minister Čaplović expressed his conviction that the NATO Enlargement Protocol is soon to be ratified in the Slovakian Parliament, making Slovakia one of the first countries to do so. Slovakia remains one of the biggest advocates of Croatia’s EU accession.
As an equally important future co-operation factor, Vice-Prime Minister Čaplović noted the issue of energy strategy for countries like Croatia and Slovakia, which could through a timely and clear definition towards their energy resources could position themselves more prominently in relation to other countries.
