Minister Gordan Jandroković received on official visit Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze

The ministers expressed satisfaction over the two countries’ bilateral relations, as well as the excellent multilateral cooperation. They agreed that today’s signing of the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation would also further upgrade the relations. Minister Jandroković pointed out the importance of the first official visit to Croatia by a Georgian foreign minister.

He added that Croatia supported Georgia’s right to sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, expressing support for its NATO aspirations.

Minister Vashadze reported on the status of the EU-Georgia relations, pointing out that the full-fledged EU membership was Georgia’s second foreign-policy priority. Minister Jandroković communicated Croatia’s readiness to transfer its Euro-Atlantic integration experiences to Georgia. In that regard, he informed his counterpart about the status of Croatia’s EU negotiations.

Talking about the bilateral economic cooperation, the ministers pointed out the vast potential for its enhancement and arranged for the setting up of legal frameworks for strengthening the economic exchange.

Minister Jandroković also offered the reopening of cooperation by way of educating Georgian diplomats at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, which Minister Vashadze accepted.

He also expressed satisfaction over the announced activities of the Georgian diplomatic representative in Zagreb.
