Minister Gordan Jandroković received on inaugural visit UNHCR Representative to Croatia Wilfried Buchhorn

The good co-operation between the UNHCR and the Croatian Government was also confirmed by the statement that the Croatian Government, through activities such as property return, housing reconstruction, and the maintenance of other sustainable return conditions, is continuously working for the return of refugees and displaced persons.

Minister Jandroković pointed out that the Croatian Government has adopted the Plan of Housing the Former Tenant Rights Holders, as specified in the EU membership Action Plan. It is yet another instance in which the Croatian Government has repeatedly confirmed its dedication and took concrete steps to bring the process of refugee and displaced persons return to an end, said Minister Jandroković.

Along with congratulating on Croatia’s election as a non-permanent UN Security Council member, UNHCR Representative Buchhorn exchanged opinions with Minister Jandroković about the modalities of future co-operation within UN bodies and handed him the Study on the Sustainability of Return in the Republic Croatia.

Both sides confirmed the importance of the support Croatia is offering by taking part in the UN peacekeeping missions.
