Minister Gordan Jandroković received on inaugural visit Israeli Ambassador Shmuel Meirom

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković received 1 April 2008 on inaugural visit the Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Croatia, Shmuel Meirom

The two collocutors described the relations between Croatia and Israel as friendly and devoid of outstanding issues. Pointing out the constantly intensifying co-operation, the two expressed a wish for the strengthening of economic relations and welcomed Israel’s investment in Croatia.

Minister Jandroković reported on Croatia’s Euro-Atlantic efforts, with reference to the expectations from the forthcoming NATO Summit in Bucharest and the EU negotiation process. He also informed Ambassador Meirom about the US president Bush’s visit to Croatia, describing it as a confirmation of the exceptionally developed and partnership relations between Croatia and the US.

Ambassador Meirom reported on the current events in the Middle East and the course of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

During the meeting, Ambassador Meirom handed a letter by Israeli Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni to Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković, congratulating him on his appointment to duty.
