Minister Gordan Jandroković met with Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt

The ministers pointed out the very good and friendly relations, intensified in all areas of cooperation. Minister Jandroković thanked the Swedish side for its support for Croatia’s EU accession process, especially during Sweden’s EU presidency, as well as for Minister Bildt’s personal contribution to the initiative of unblocking Croatia’s negotiations.

Talking about Croatia’s EU accession negotiations, Minister Jandroković expressed hope in their further progress at the forthcoming Intergovernmental Conference on Croatia’s Accession to the EU, February 19th 2010, when Croatia should open 30 and temporarily close 17 chapters.

The collocutors also talked about the economic crisis and its effect on the EU countries and Croatia, as well as about the macroeconomic and monetary indicators in our Croatia.

The collocutors exchanged opinions about the political situation in South Eastern Europe and touched upon the preparation for the Conference on the Western Balkans, to be co-organized by Croatia and Slovenia.
