Minister Gordan Jandroković met with European Parliament’s Croatia Rapporteur and Socialist Group Vice-Chairman Hannes Swoboda

Minister Jandroković informed Rapporteur Swoboda about the efforts Croatia is putting forth in fulfilling its obligations in regard to the EU accession process

Minister Jandroković informed Rapporteur Swoboda about the efforts Croatia is putting forth in fulfilling its obligations in regard to the EU accession process. He pointed out that Croatia is determined to continue with the reforms, especially in key areas such as justice, the fight against corruption and organized crime, and shipbuilding reconstruction.

Rapporteur Swoboda expressed hope that a solution to the border issue between Croatia and Slovenia would be found soon, which, according to him, is an issue regulated by international conventions. “Regardless of the extent to which the international court and mediation can facilitate the solving of the issue, the two sides should continue to negotiate”, said Swoboda.

Minister Jandroković expressed satisfaction with Swoboda’s Report on Croatia, which has been accepted almost unanimously in the European Parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee. “The support Croatia enjoys among the European Parliament’s MPs is a clear indication that the European Union is looking approvingly upon Croatia’s tangible progress in all of the areas”, concluded Minister Jandroković.
