Minister Jandroković familiarized Advisor Cunliffe with the status of Croatia’s EU negotiations. Cunliffe said the UK would continue to support Croatia during the final stages of the negotiation process, adding he believed it was possible to close the negotiations in the first half of 2011, during Hungary’s EU presidency.

Minister Jandroković also informed his collocutor about the justice reforms and war against corruption.

In regard to the situation in South Eastern Europe, both sides pointed out the importance of the European perspective for the region. Croatia is putting forth great efforts in the bilateral and regional cooperation with its neighbours, said Minister Jandroković, reiterating once again that the EU membership perspective was the best guarantee of peace and stability in the region.
