The meeting is a confirmation of the good cooperation and strategic interests shared by the three countries with the aim of achieving prosperity in the region, improving the overall state of affairs in South Eastern Europe, and assisting Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Minister Jandroković. We also share the wish for the countries of South Eastern Europe to remain dedicated to the process of Euro-Atlantic integration, and the trilateral form of today’s meeting is an important contribution to that end, added the minister.

The Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Turkey are both NATO members, said Minister Jandroković, and thanked Turkey for the support during the accession process, expressing Croatia’s support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s participation in NATO’s Membership Action Plan, the Security Council, and the US-Adriatic Charter.

Speaking about the modalities of Croatia’s assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Minister Jandroković said the Croatian Government had decided to cede to Bosnia and Herzegovina the translations of the European legislature Croatia had already incorporated into its own. He also announced a meeting between the Croatian experts on the EU affairs with the experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina, at which Croatia will transfer its experiences with the EU accession.

Minister Jandroković concluded his media statement pointing out Croatia and Turkey’s readiness to establish a constructive dialogue with the representatives of BiH authorities so as to achieve stability in the country and set up functioning institutions modelled after those of the EU members.

Minister Alkalaj described the meeting as an important step forwards towards reaching stability in the region and an expression of support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU accession. Croatia, said Minister Alkalaj, is an important neighbouring country which can not only contribute to the stability of the region, but to the stabilizing of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which Croatia’s efforts have already been recognized in the form of assisting the Croats living there and making up one of the three BiH constitutive nations. He expressed his belief that Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Euro-Atlantic ambitions would strengthen through the continuation of this kind of cooperation and a unified effort by all of the three nations. He thanked for Croatia and Turkey’s support for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its efforts to join NATO.

Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoğlu thanked Minister Jandroković for organizing the meeting that strengthened the three countries’ cooperation. Pointing out the traditionally good relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, Minister Davutoğlu expressed hope in the continued strengthening of cooperation in stabilizing the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the rest of the region, as well as in the strengthening of the multilateral cooperation. Minister Davutoğlu also expressed support for the continuation of the reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that all the related topics would be further discussed during Turkey’s current SEECP presidency.

Ministers Jandroković, Alkalaj and Davutoğlu agreed in their determination to continue with the trilateral meetings.
